BioMerieux reports growth for full-year 2012

28th January 2013

BioMerieux has released its latest business review for the 2012 financial year, during which it generated 1.57 billion euros (1.35 billion pounds) in annual sales.

This was up by 3.7 percent compared to 2011, a performance that was in line with the life science company's expectations for the business year.

During the last 12 months, BioMerieux was able to accelerate its expansion into emerging markets by establishing new subsidiaries in India, while slightly enhancing its sales in its core Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

Over the next year, the company will continue to invest in research and development as it prepares to launch three innovative new instruments, including a third-generation version of its Vidas system.

Jean-Luc Belingard, chairman and chief executive office of BioMerieux, said: "We are confident in our ability to develop solutions delivering major innovations that will drive progress in clinical microbiology, industrial microbiology and immunoassays."

BioMerieux marks its 50th anniversary in 2013 and operates in more than 160 countries around the world.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801530150-ADNFCR
