Bioquell reaffirms effectiveness of HPV technology

Bioquell has reiterated the ability of its hydrogen peroxide vapour (HPV) technology to kill MRSA and Clostridium difficile.

The announcement comes after a recent announcement by the prime minister that all NHS hospitals are to be deep cleaned to restore them to their initial states of cleanliness and rid them of the superbugs.

HPV technology developed by Bioquell is not only capable of killing Clostridium difficile and MRSA, but also other nosocomial pathogens such as glycopeptide-resistant enterococci and Acinetobacter, reports the company.

Due to its nature as a vapour, Bioquell states that HPV is able to decontaminate hard to reach areas and sensitive electronic equipment that may be damaged by other methods of cleaning.

As the only residues left by HPV are oxygen and water, wards can resume operation as soon as decontamination is complete, the firm asserts.

Earlier this year, Bioquell announced the introduction of a new service category III laboratory cleanroom decontamination.
