Biotest agrees licensing deal with ADMA Biologics
Biotest has entered into a new alliance with ADMA Biologics concerning RI-002, a new respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immune globulin therapy.
The strategic long-term manufacturing, supply and license agreement will see ADMA Biologics purchase worldwide requirements and product supply for the compound from Biotest
Pharmaceuticals, the US subsidiary of Biotest AG.
ADMA has will then out-license RI-002 to Biotest AG to market and sell in Europe and selected countries in North Africa and the Middle East, with Biotest offering reimbursement upon the completion of certain milestones as well as royalties based on a percentage of sales of RSV immune globulin.
The therapy is currently being prepared for a phase III trial in the US among primary immunodeficiency patients.
Professor Gregor Schulz, chief executive officer of Biotest, said: "This specialty immune globulin product will perfectly complement our hyper-immune globulin portfolio."
This comes after the firm announced earlier this month that Professor Schulz's tenure in charge of Biotest is to be extended to the end of 2014.
