Biotest launches Bivigam in US

Biotest has revealed it is to launch its Bivigam product in the US.

In an announcement yesterday (February 5th), the pharmaceuticals company said it is to launch this product – which is a human intravenous immunoglobulin in ready-to-use ten percent solution – across the Atlantic with immediate effect.

Biotest noted Bivigam is therefore now available for regular application in the treatment of people with primary humoral immunodeficiency in America following extensive research into how the product could be best-served to the US market.

The organisation also outlined its commitment to enhancing its presence in the US by investing 50 million dollars (31.8 million pounds) to enlargen its advanced protein purification facility in Boca Raton, Florida.

Jordan Siegel, chief executive officer of Biotest, commented: "By expanding our capacities in the manufacturing sector, we have an excellent position to meet current and future needs of patients and the market to meet."
