BMI Healthcare introduces digital mammography units in London sites
BMI Healthcare has announced the launch of new digital mammography units from Siemens at two of its London hospitals.
The Bishops Wood Hospital in Hillingdon and The King's Oak Hospital in Enfield have installed MAMMOMAT Inspiration devices to replace their older analogue systems, marking their first forays into digital mammography.
Using these devices, hospital staff will be able to rapidly view detailed high-quality images at a low dose, with the devices' OpView 2 image processing software enhancing picture quality using new algorithms that offer enhanced sight of masses and microcalcifications.
The various advances offered by MAMMOMAT Inspiration will also allow clinicians to spend more time with patients, thus improving care quality.
Fraser Dawson, executive director at the BMI Bishops Wood Hospital, said: "The transition to digital mammography will benefit hospital staff and patients through improved workflow and ergonomic design."
BMI Healthcare operates 69 hospitals and treatment centres across the country and boasts a 99 percent patient satisfaction rating of good, very good or excellent.
