Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly to present drug data at EASD 2013
Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly have announced plans to share new clinical data at the 2013 annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD).
The companies will attend the congress in Barcelona from September 23rd to 27th, where they will oversee five oral and 12 poster presentations for collaboratively-developed therapies such as linagliptin and the investigational compound empagliflozin.
A total of nine clinical and preclinical abstracts for linagliptin – which is sold commercially under the brand name Trajenta – will be presented during the event, showcasing the benefits the drug offers to type 2 diabetes patients.
Meanwhile, the eight clinical and preclinical abstracts for empagliflozin will underline the potentially efficacious nature of the sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor in reducing blood glucose levels among adult sufferers of the disease.
This comes after Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly commenced a new linagliptin study last month to assess the cardiovascular and renal outcomes associated with the drug.
