Boehringer Ingelheim to broadcast laminitis programme online

Boehringer Ingelheim has announced plans for a new online broadcast this October that will educate horse owners on the subject of laminitis.

Entitled The Laminitis Revolution 2, the video is a follow-up to a hugely successful broadcast that the company aired this spring and comes as part of its wider Talk About Laminitis disease awareness initiative.

The new programme will feature presentations by some of the country's leading experts on laminitis, PPID (Cushing's disease) and nutrition, focusing on the connection between laminitis and PPID.

Taking place on October 9th 2013, the broadcast will contain information on the hormonal diseases that cause up to nine out of 10 laminitis cases, while raising awareness of the fact that Cushing's disease can affect horses of all ages.

Liz Barrett, equine business manager at Boehringer Ingelheim, said: "The programme received rave reviews from owners and we are certain that The Laminitis Revolution 2 will be an unmissable sequel for people struggling with this debilitating condition in their horse."

The company also recently announced that it will be offering free laboratory ACTH tests for horses this autumn in order to improve PPID detection rates, while making various guides available online.
