Boehringer Ingelheim to present new Pradaxa data at ESC 2013

Boehringer Ingelheim will be attending the upcoming European Society of Cardiology (2013) Congress in Amsterdam in order to share its latest trial data on the anticoagulant Pradaxa.

During the congress – which runs from August 31st to September 4th – the company will present positive findings from the pivotal RE-LY clinical study, as well as RELY-ABLE, the only long-term new oral anticoagulant study.

Scientists will also be discussing new preclinical research on Boehringer Ingelheim's investigational antibody fragment antidote for dabigatran.

This reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to improving the lives of patients with cardiovascular disorders and developing understanding of optimal stroke protection techniques.

Professor Klaus Dugi, corporate senior vice-president for medicine at Boehringer Ingelheim, said the data "will provide additional evidence on the positive efficacy and safety profile of Pradaxa, as well as important insights on its use in a wide range of patients and clinical settings".

Last month, the company reported positive findings from the RE-LY study which demonstrated Pradaxa's benefits for difficult-to-treat patients with atrial fibrillation and symptomatic heart failure.
