Boston Scientific says it focuses on improving patients’ lives

Boston Scientific is committed to enhancing patients’ lives, it has stated.

The company is due to reveal 14 abstracts and discuss clinical data about its Spyglass Direct Visualization System at the Digestive Disease Week, which begins tomorrow (May 30th) and ends June 4th.

Intended to guide devices throughout the pancreatico-biliary system, the equipment is designed to assist physicians with diagnosing and treating pancreatic cancer or pre-cancerous tissues.

The SpyScope Catheter can be used alongside the system too.

President of the business’ endoscopy division Michael P Phalen said Boston Scientific has an “impressive number of presentations” planned for the event.

“[This] underscores the potential of this technology as a vital new tool in endoscopic procedures for diagnosing and treating pancreatic and biliary disease,” he remarked.

Mr Phalen concluded the company is dedicated to developing new techniques and expanding indications.

The Food and Drug Administration recently approved Boston Scientific’s SpyScope Access and Delivery Catheter.

It is hoped they will become an important part of diagnosing diseases, commented Mr Phalen.
