Boston Scientific to present Promus Element data at ACC 2012
Boston Scientific will be showcasing the benefits of its Promus Element stent at this week's 2012 American College of Cardiology (ACC) annual scientific sessions.
The company will be presenting clinical data from the Platinum and Perseus studies in Chicago, which assessed the stent in comparison to a number of alternatives.
Data from the studies have been collated over two years, offering key insights into the long-term performance of the device in the treatment of coronary conditions.
Meanwhile, other data presented during the ACC event will also provide evidence of the benefits of the company's Watchman left atrial appendage closure device, while another trial evaluates the use of SmartDelay optimisation during cardiac resynchronisation therapy.
Dr Keith Dawkins, global chief medical officer for Boston Scientific, said: "Additional analysis from the Platinum and Perseus trials will provide further insight into the performance of our platinum chromium stent platform."
Earlier this month, the company purchased the US-based business Cameron Health, a move that will allow it to add a range of new implantable cardioverter defibrillators to its portfolio.
