BVA to offer free legal advice to employers
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has added free legal advice to the employment law and HR services it provides for employer members.
Following a trial period, a comprehensive employment law service for employer members is now being added to the membership package alongside BVA's other legal support offerings, complementing the expanded range of services available to employees.
Businesses can now make a call to the association's legal advice line and have their case referred on to expert legal advisers, who will provide unlimited advice and assistance on employment law and related HR issues.
Covering matters such as disciplinary, grievance, capability and redundancy processes, the service will help vets ensure they comply with employment law, while producing accurate documentation.
BVA president Peter Jones said: "The new service will help employer members to deal with some of the more difficult legal and HR aspects of running a practice."
The BVA is the representative trade body for the British veterinary profession and has more than 13,500 members.
