CareFusion earns 2013 CIO 100 Award

CareFusion has been recognised as one of the 100 top-performing companies in the world in terms of operational and strategic IT excellence by CIO magazine.

The publication has presented the company with a CIO 100 Award for 2013, thanks in large part to the recent successful implementation of a new business intelligence platform used to record sales analytics and other business metrics, provide insight on market trends and track competitive intelligence.

Simplifying large amounts of complex data from disparate sources into an easy-to-use dashboard, the platform is helping CareFusion to make better and faster business decisions, thus providing an ideal example of the transformational power of enterprise IT solutions.

Mike Zill, executive vice-president and chief information officer for CareFusion, said: "Our business and IT teams worked to understand the constraints of our legacy approach and implemented new technology that analyses large volumes of data quickly and more easily."

Earlier this month, the company reported its financial results for the 2013 business year, during which it generated a revenue total of $3.55 billion (2.29 billion pounds).
