Ceva Animal Health launches marbofloxacin tablets for dogs and cats
Ceva Animal Health has announced the launch of its new Marboxidin chewable tablets, which can be used to combat a range of micro-organisms susceptible to the active ingredient marbofloxacin.
Part of the Cevolution range of anti-infectives, Marboxidin is able to treat conditions such as skin and soft tissue infections or respiratory tract infections in dogs or cats, as well as urinary tract infections among canines.
The tablets have been formulated using taste-masking lipid coating technology that eliminates the bitter taste typically associated with marbofloxacin-based medications.
In a palatability trial, it was found that 90 percent of dogs and 80 percent of cats were willing to voluntarily consume the tablets from the hand or in food.
Marboxidin is being made available in three separate tablet sizes – five mg, 20 mg and 80 mg.
This comes after Ceva Animal Health launched a multichannel advertising campaign in the UK earlier this year to highlight the benefits its products can bring to owners of multiple pet cats.
