Ceva announces takeover of Vetech Laboratories
Ceva is to expand its offering of medical products for poultry through the acquisition of Vetech Laboratories.
The Ontario-based business produces live coccidiosis vaccines for poultry under the brand name Immucox, with the products currently distributed in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Coccidiosis has been identified as a key health priority by Ceva due to its high morbidity rates and the negative impact it can have on feed efficiency, with vaccines to become more prevalent due to enforced global reductions of in-feed anti-coccidial products.
This takeover allows Ceva to expand its poultry vaccine range to include intestinal health products as well as respiratory therapies.
Marc Prikazsky, chief executive officer of Ceva Sante Animale, said: "We're pleased to continue giving our business partners new options for keeping their operations healthy and productive."
This comes in the same week that the firm expanded its North American operations through the acquisition of CentaurVA Animal Health.
