Church and Dwight reports growth in Q2 2013
Church and Dwight has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2013, during which it generated double-digit year-on-year sales growth.
The company's net sales total for the three-month period came to $787.6 million (512.29 million pounds), up by 13.1 percent year on year, while its earnings per share increased by 8.9 percent to $0.61.
Six of the company's eight power brands were able to increase their market share during the period, with the strength of its global consumer business more than compensating for the weakness shown by its specialty products division due to poor weather conditions.
The firm reaffirmed its full-year 2013 earnings per share outlook of $2.79, which would represent a 14 percent increase on a reported basis.
James Craigie, chairman and chief executive officer of Church and Dwight, said: "We are in a strong position to continue to deliver value to our stockholders as a result of our unique portfolio of value and premium products, a strong pipeline of innovative new products and disciplined cost management."
This comes after the company declared its 450th regular quarterly dividend earlier this month.
