CME Medical device to support world record kayaking attempt

CME Medical has announced that it will be supporting Crohn's disease and short bowel syndrome sufferer Justin Hansen as he embarks upon a kayaking world record attempt.

Mr Hansen – also known as the Gutless Kayaker – will be vying to make the longest trip spent living solely on artificial nutrition by undertaking a 420-mile kayaking trip to raise money for bowel cancer research.

Since he has virtually no bowel, he will be relying on CME Medical's Bodyguard 323 Ambulatory Infusion Pump to support him during the attempt, having spent the last four to five years using the reliable portable device.

As well as raising money for charity, Mr Hansen is hoping that his heroics will show other patients that they can still achieve great things in life despite intestinal failure.

This comes after the firm was named as one of the ten most profitable SMEs in Lancashire by local publication Lancashire Business View earlier this month.
