CME Medical named among top Lancashire SMEs

CME Medical has announced that it has been recognised as one of Lancashire's most profitable small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by a local publication.

Lancashire Business View has named the firm as the ninth-placed business in its Hot 100 list, after it saw a 50 percent year-on-year sales increase in 2011 and expanded its workforce from 55 to 75 employees last year.

CME Medical has more than 300 NHS trusts, private hospitals, homecare providers and GP surgeries in its customer portfolio and is looking to move into new areas of business, such as clinical trials.

It provides infusion products for medical specialities including pain management, palliative care, oncology, nutrition and other clinical applications, celebrating its tenth anniversary in July 2011.

John Carrington, managing director at CME Medical, said: "We are constantly looking at new treatment areas by working closely with health organisations, key opinion leaders and researchers and providing comprehensive technical and practical help in clinical trials."
