Colgate-Palmolive sees further sales growth for full-year 2012

1st February 2013

Colgate-Palmolive has reported positive sales growth during the 2012 full-year period thanks to its strong portfolio and various corporate initiatives.

The dental products manufacturer's net sales for the year came to $17.09 billion (10.85 billion pounds), up by two percent year over year, with its global market shares in the toothpaste and manual toothbrush sectors both at record highs.

It was able to overcome difficult macroeconomic trends by continuing efforts to improve its corporate structure for greater efficiency, as well as through the launch of new products and strategic worldwide pricing initiatives.

Ian Cook, chairman, president and chief executive officer, said: "We expect our growth momentum to continue as we enter 2013. Our new product pipeline is very full around the world and we are pleased that our global restructuring programme is on track."

Last month, the firm declared quarterly cash dividends of $0.62 per common share for February 15th 2013, meaning it has now paid uninterrupted dividends on its common stock since 1895.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801533714-ADNFCR
