Coltene announces new CEO appointment

Coltene has announced that Martin Schaufelberger will be taking over as its new chief executive officer (CEO) in early summer 2012.

Mr Schaufelberger joins the dental supplies manufacturer following a long and successful career leading mid-sized businesses, having most recently acted as CEO of Kunststoff Schwanden.

Under his leadership, the company experienced a threefold increase in its turnover, while also acquiring a large number of new customers.

Following his appointment, current interim leader Erwin Locher will resume his position as delegate of the board and will continue to oversee the realignment of the company.

Company president Nick Huber said Mr Schaufelberger's "structured and focused management style will enable him to implement enduring improvements to the operative processes, technological basis and market position of the company".

According to the firm's most recent financial figures in August 2011, Coltene experienced a double-digit increase in sales in local currency terms during the first six months of the 2011 business year.
