Cook Medical ART incubator endorsed by new study
Cook Medical's MINC Benchtop Incubator, part of its assisted reproductive technology (ART) range, has won an endorsement following a new scientific study.
The company's incubator and accompanying embryo culture sequential media system was compared to a standard laboratory incubator in a research project published in the Journal of Clinical Embryology.
It was found that Cook Medical's device offered superior performance in reliably maintaining in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) culture conditions, including temperature, pH and carbon dioxide levels.
According to the study, this means the incubator can help to minimise the risk of damage to embryos, thereby delivering improved fertilisation and clinical pregnancy rates.
Michael Lee, a lead researcher in the trial, said: "We are always pleased to find new technology that improves the process of IVF."
Last month, Cook Medical announced the launch of the Biodesign Tissue Generation Matrix and Nipple Reconstruction Cylinder, two products designed for use in reconstructive breast surgery.
