Cook Medical launches new salivary duct access products
Cook Medical has announced the launch of a suite of salivary duct access products for the minimally invasive treatment of obstructive salivary gland disease.
New offerings include a soft-tip wire guide, a serial dilator set, the Kolenda Salivary Access Introducer Set and the NGage and NCircle salivary stone extractors.
They work together to create a working channel through which physicians can visualise and treat obstructive salivary gland disease in sialendoscopy procedures that can be conducted in an outpatient setting.
These techniques have been shown to reduce the risks of facial nerve paralysis and morbidity, while avoiding the need for invasive open surgery.
Cook Medical has added the products to the portfolio of its new otolaryngology – head and neck surgery division, which is initially focused on offerings that are used to treat salivary gland disease, chronic sinusitis vocal cord paralysis and obstructive sleep apnoea.
The business unit was launched last September and also offers products such as the Hercules 3 Stage Oesophageal Balloon and Chiba EchoTip Biopsy Needle.
