Cook Medical marks first anniversary of OHNS division
Cook Medical has highlighted the success enjoyed by its otolaryngology/head and neck surgery (OHNS) division since the launch of the business a year ago.
Since the unit was inaugurated at the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) in 2012, it has successfully developed and delivered market innovative alternatives to open surgery for various ear, nose and throat health conditions.
These included the Chiba EchoTip Biopsy Needle and the Hercules 3-Stage Oesophageal Balloon plus various salivary duct access products, all of which were launched last year following their debut at AAO-HNS.
The business has since expanded its operations to Europe and is focused on developing interventional products to be used to repair soft tissue in airways.
Thomas Cherry, global leader for Cook Medical's OHNS division, said: "Our growth over the past year clearly demonstrates that there is a growing market for innovative solutions that help improve the quality of patients' lives."
Earlier this month, Cook Group announced the appointment of the respected industry veteran Gretchen Gutman as its vice-president of public policy.
