Covidien announces management reorganisation
Covidien has announced a number of changes to its management structure that are designed to support its future growth initiatives.
From July 1st 2011, Bryan Hanson is to be appointed group president for surgical devices and energy-based devices, while Michael Sgrignari will take on the role of senior vice-president for quality and operations.
Meanwhile, Peter Werhly has been named group president for respiratory and monitoring solutions and vascular therapies, as well as taking responsibility for the Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Canada regions.
In addition, current senior vice-president for global supply chain James Muse will be retiring from the firm and surgical devices president Scott Flora will leave to pursue new opportunities.
Jose Almeida, the incoming president and chief executive officer of Covidien, said: "These appointments will enhance our ability to deliver strong, sustained and profitable growth as we execute against our strategic initiatives."
Mr Almeida will also take over his new role on July 1st, succeeding the retiring Richard Meelia.
