Daiichi Sankyo signs up for UN Global Compact

20th April 2012

Daiichi Sankyo has announced its participation in the UN Global Compact, an initiative designed to instil high corporate governance and social responsibility standards among businesses.

Under the terms of this arrangement, the firm will be provided with a way of outlining its corporate stance on ten key principles in the area of human rights, labour, anti-corruption and the environment.

These include the need to combat discrimination, fight against forced or underage labour, promote sustainability and encourage the development of green technology.

Each of the ten principles of the UN Global Compact will be integrated into the conduct of each employee as part of Daiichi Sankyo's corporate conduct charter.

"The Daiichi Sankyo group intends to fulfil its corporate social responsibility by actively responding to an ever-changing society and enacting improvements for increased corporate value," said a company statement.

At the start of this month, Daiichi Sankyo introduced its new global corporate slogan "Passion for Innovation. Compassion for Patients", which will be instrumental in communicating its business ideals.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801345002-ADNFCR
