Dako and Bristol-Myers Squibb to develop pharmacodiagnostic tests

Dako has announced a partnership with Bristol-Myers Squibb as the pair look to develop a new range of pharmacodiagnostic tests.

Aimed at identifying patients who will benefit most from trials with investigational drug candidates, the latest move builds on a collaboration between the companies that has been ongoing since 2008.

"The partnership agreements simply underpin Dako's mission to deliver the highest standards and accurate diagnoses – ultimately to the benefit of patients all over the world," commented Lars Holmkvist, chief executive officer of Dako.

He added that the announcement will see the firms working together closely on the development of these important diagnostic tests.

The partnership will also examine the impact that personalised medicine strategies can have on specific therapies in order to help patients most effectively.

Founded by Dr Niels Harbroe in 1966, Dako today specialises in cancer diagnostics and pathology, employing more than 1,000 people worldwide and showing annual revenues in excess of 1,913 million Danish kroner (220.2 million pounds).
