Dako launches advanced Omnis staining platform

11th March 2013

Dako has unveiled a new state-of-the-art staining platform called Dako Omnis at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology annual congress in Baltimore.

The new technology offering comprises hardware, software and reagents that help to automate  immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridisation processes, meaning entire patient cases can be processed simultaneously and diagnoses can be made more quickly.

Dako cooperated with a global panel of key independent laboratory personnel to bring this solution to market as part of a collaborative design process, with many of its key features having been designed in response to feedback from this process.

It will be offered as part of Dako's current IHC portfolio alongside the existing Autostainer Link 48 instrument.

Lisa Miller, corporate vice-president of global commercial business at Dako, said: "Advancing pathology is at the heart of what we do and our customers tell us our new platform is an important addition."

This comes after the firm announced a new supply agreement with peptide nucleic acid oligomer provider Panagene last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801554540-ADNFCR
