GE Healthcare launches Discovery PET/CT 610 scanner
GE Healthcare has announced the launch of a new positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scanner, which it believes is the most sensitive of its type.
The Discovery PET/CT 610 is the first double-digit sensitivity PET/CT device released to date, offering an unprecedented absolute sensitivity level of 10cps/kBq.
Optimised for modern fluorine-based tracers, the system delivers high-quality images and fast and detailed scans at low doses, while it also utilises Q.Suite technology to minimise and manage variability.
Vivek Bhatt, general manager of PET at GE Healthcare, said: "At GE Healthcare, we are committed to delivering what matters to clinicians and patients – lower dose and better quantitative accuracy, and that continues to form the foundation of our PET/CT products."
This is one of a number of new products being showcased by GE Healthcare at the Radiological Association of North America congress in Chicago this week.
Other innovations include Silent Scan, a system for reducing acoustic noise generated during an MR scan, and the mammography technology offering SensorySuite.
