GlaxoSmithKline supports AllTrials campaign
GlaxoSmithKline has announced its support to the transparency of clinical trials by confirming it is backing the AllTrials campaign.
The pharmaceuticals company is in favour of the registration of clinical trials and the full disclosure of scientific test results and reports to help drive further understanding in the industry.
GlaxoSmithKline already registers and posts summary information about each trial it begins and shares the results of its clinical research on a website that is accessible to all.
In addition, the organisation is committing to making results publicly available through its clinical trials register to provide more details on the design, methods and results of such studies and form the basis of submissions to the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency.
Patrick Vallance, president of pharmaceuticals research and development at GlaxoSmithKline, said: "We are committed to being transparent with our clinical trial data to help advance scientific understanding and inform medical judgment."
