Henry Schein named among world’s most admired companies
Henry Schein's commitment to corporate citizenship has been acknowledged with its inclusion in the latest Fortune list of the most admired companies in the world.
The dental, medical and animal health group made the list for the 12th consecutive year, earning first-place rankings within its industry in five of nine categories – social responsibility, global competitiveness, quality of management, quality of products/services and use of corporate assets.
Its global corporate social responsibility programme Henry Schein Cares has been highly successful in increasing access to care for underserved populations globally for many years with various initiatives around the world.
This week, the company highlighted the community contributions made by Henry's Angels, a volunteer project launched by British Team Schein member Ellie Nightingale in January 2011.
Since helping to overhaul a garden area at EllenorLions Hospice in Gravesend in May 2011, Henry's Angels has become an ongoing initiative, completing nine projects involving more than 2,150 hours of work and spreading to other parts of the UK, including Cardiff and Maidstone.
Stanley Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "Henry Schein is proving that it is possible to do well by doing good and that being a responsible corporate citizen is good business."
