Henry Schein sponsors annual BAPIO conference

Henry Schein has hailed the "great success" of the recent annual national conference of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO), which it helped to sponsor earlier this month.

The dental and medical products company was able to exhibit its corporate brand of equipment and consumables at the Wembley event, as well as sponsoring the presentation of the Henry Schein leadership in general practice award.

BAPIO is a national voluntary membership organisation that was launched in 1998 and represents doctors with roots in the Indian subcontinent, including nations such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

This year's conference was attended by more than 200 delegates and focused on the central theme of 'NHS at Crossroads'.

Simon Gambold, managing director of Henry Schein's UK medical and dental business, said: "We feel honoured to be a consistent partner for BAPIO to promote leadership amongst doctors through sponsoring one of the BAPIO Leadership Awards."

This comes as part of the company's global social responsibility programme Henry Schein Cares, which is dedicated to expanding access to care, enhancing accountability and bolstering environmental improvements.
