Hill-Rom launches new Hand Hygiene Compliance Solution
Hill-Rom has announced the launch of a new system to help hospitals monitor hand hygiene rates – an increasingly key priority among healthcare providers worldwide.
The Hill-Rom Hand Hygiene Compliance system offers real-time monitoring and staff reminders, while using the same hardware and devices as other Hill-Rom real-time locating solutions, thus simplifying reporting methods.
Following its initial rollout in the US, more than 2.5 million hand-hygiene events have been recorded to date, with most hospitals realising they have been overestimating compliance levels and subsequently being empowered to make the necessary improvements.
By proactively alerting caregivers and offering gentle reminder when care environments are entered, the system is proving to be more effective and efficient than manual methods.
Adam McMullin, vice-president and general manager at Hill-Rom IT Solutions, said: "Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to do and that is certainly true for hospitals in achieving universal compliance with hand-hygiene guidelines."
Last month, the firm announced that it has approved a ten percent third quarter dividend increase, reflecting the health of its recent financial performance.
