Hospira appoints new senior-vice president of operations

16th April 2013

Hospira has announced that Matthew Stober has been selected as its new senior vice-president of operations with immediate effect.

Mr Stober will take responsibility for key global functions such as manufacturing science and technology, engineering, competitive strategy, health and safety, supply chain and procurement, while also expanding his US role to include all pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

He originally joined the company in 2011 and played a key role in helping Hospira address an industry-wide shortage of critical generic injectable drugs in the US last year.

Mr Stober is succeeding former operations leader John Elliot, who is retiring from the company at the end of the year and will provide transitional support until then.

Michael Ball, the company's chief executive officer, said: "Matt brings the perfect blend of vision and experience to our operations organisation, backed by a proven track record of success at Hospira."

This comes after the firm named Royce Bedward as its new corporate vice-president, general counsel and secretary last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801571913-ADNFCR
