Idexx Laboratories commences search for new CFO

Idexx Laboratories is on the lookout for a new chief financial officer (CFO) after announcing the imminent retirement of current CFO and executive vice-president Merilee Raines.

Ms Raines will step down from her position following the company's latest annual meeting of stockholders in May 2013, having occupied the post since 2003 and serving with Idexx since 1985.

She has been credited with playing a significant role in generating growth at the animal health firm since its inception, leaving the company at a time when she feels its future prospects are as strong as ever.

A comprehensive internal and external search for a new CFO is now being undertaken by the Idexx management team.

Jonathan Ayers, chairman and chief executive officer of Idexx Laboratories, said: "I am deeply grateful to Merilee for her many substantial contributions to the company over the course of her long and successful career at Idexx."

This week, the company also announced the acquisition of two veterinary radiology reading groups, Shadowsmiths Teleradiology and VetRadiologist.
