Integrated DNA Technologies launches new PrimeTime qPCR probes

Integrated DNA Technologies has announced the launch of two new probes as part of its PrimeTime range of quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) products.

The first of these is the Eco Probe, a cost-effective option at the mid-scale range which is delivered at a normalised yield of 2.5 nmoles, sufficient for approximately 500 reactions.

When used with an internal Zen quencher, the device generates less background noise than a traditional single-quenched probe, while increasing the endpoint signal and significantly boosting qPCR sensitivity and precision.

Meanwhile, the PrimeTime Mini LNA Probes enable customers to carry out as few as 100 reactions, making them ideal for preliminary experiments in which it is beneficial to perform a few reactions using a small subset of probes.

The company said: "The PrimeTime Eco Probe and PrimeTime Mini LNA Probe complete the existing offering, providing new options for customers performing gene expression and genotyping experiments."

Earlier this month, the firm earned praise for its xGEN Lockdown Probes from the University of Texas at Austin, which was recently able to make a number of research breakthroughs using the technology.
