Invitrogen and IDEXX to supply technology for drinking water safety testing

Invitrogen has entered into a partnership with IDEXX laboratories for the development and distribution of new products for the drinking water testing industry.

As part of the agreement, IDEXX will be responsible for promotion and supply of water testing kits that make use of Invitrogen’s wide range of technologies including the company’s Dynabeads GC-Combo, which will be used in the selective enrichment of Giardia and Cryptosporidium directly from water sample concentrates.

Vice-president and general manager of Invitrogen’s applied markets business unit Paul Kinnon commented: "By partnering with IDEXX we are creating a more complete workflow solution and product offering with unmatched quality for our customers."

Mr Kinnon added that the partnership continues the company’s scheme to diversify into applied markets and advancing the wide range of technologies offered by the firm.

Invitrogen was recently rewarded for its Qubit platform in the R&D Magazine awards.
