Ivoclar Vivadent announces retirement of research manager
Ivoclar Vivadent has announced that Professor Dr Heinrich Kappert, its sector manager for research and development technologies, has retired from the company.
Professor Kappert departed his post in December 2012, having spent a decade working with Ivoclar Vivadent colleagues on the development of new dental materials and procedures.
The former professor of dental materials science at the school of dentistry of the University Hospital Freiburg joined the company in 2002, enhancing its capabilities by leveraging his extensive expertise in the field.
Professor Kappert said: "I was responsible for advancing and integrating valuable ideas – always keeping my most important goal in mind: quality."
The outgoing staff member was also the winner of the prestigious Van-Thiel prize from the Gesellschaft fur Prothetik und Werkstoffkunde in 2010 and published 75 papers on dental materials and experimental dentistry during his career.
It comes after the company recently announced a deal to acquire Wieland Dental, while also making investments into a new building at its headquarters in Liechtenstein.
