KCI appoints new member of board of directors

11th December 2012

KCI has announced the appointment of Timothy Guertin to the board of directors of its parent company.

Mr Guertin, a healthcare industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience in the sector, will join the board of the parent company of KCI and LifeCell, after reaching an agreement with its financial sponsors.

He is the former president and chief executive officer of Varian Medical Systems and still serves as a member of its board, having occupied a series of key management roles during his time with the organisation.

KCI's parent organisation is controlled indirectly by investment funds advised by Apax Partners, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board.

Buddy Gumina, partner and co-head of the Apax Healthcare Team, said: "We are delighted that Tim has agreed to join the board of directors and look forward to his involvement in strategy and oversight of the KCI and LifeCell companies."

This comes after the firm completed the sale of its Therapeutic Support Systems business to Getinge last month as part of efforts to focus on core operations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801504590-ADNFCR
