Kimberly-Clark hails ‘solid’ Q2 2013 performance

24th July 2013

Kimberly-Clark has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2013, during which it achieved a $5.3 billion (3.45 billion pounds) net sales total.

This figure was roughly equal to its performance from Q2 2012, with organic sales during the period rising by three percent year on year, thanks to a nine percent increase in the sales of its K-C International division.

Though the bottom line was impacted during the quarter by European strategic changes, pulp and tissue restructuring actions and a mixed performance in developed markets, the firm was nevertheless able to roll out new products, achieve cost savings and expand its emerging market presence.

Kimberly-Clark continues to target organic sales growth of between three and five percent over the full year.

Chairman and chief executive officer Thomas Falk said: "We delivered another solid quarter of results while we continued to execute our global business plan strategies."

Earlier this month, the company earned recognition for its supply chain management at the Procurement Leaders Awards in London, with global procurement officer Cynthia Dautrich winning an individual accolade.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801616417-ADNFCR
