Kimberly-Clark reports positive data from cooled radiofrequency studies

Kimberly-Clark has reported new data from clinical studies showing the benefits that minimally-invasive cooled radiofrequency can provide in the treatment of lower back pain.

Two separate trials that recently took place in the US and Europe have shown that the company's TransDiscal Cooled Radiofrequency System and SInergy Cooled Radiofrequency System can offer relief for chronic back pain sufferers.

Positive outcomes were achieved following use of cooled radiofrequency to treat discogenic and sacroiliac joint pain in the lower back, providing quality of life improvements and helping patients to avoid experiencing pain during everyday activities such as sitting or driving.

Lisa Kudlacz, general manager for global interventional pain management at Kimberly-Clark Health Care, said: "The promising results from these two studies further validate the effectiveness and role of cooled radiofrequency as a minimally-invasive treatment option for low back pain."

This follows on from the launch of the company's Cervicool Cooled Radiofrequency System last month.
