Lab M launches new just-add-water media line

Lab M has introduced the first product in a new line of bagged, sterile dehydrated microbiological culture media that can be made ready to use simply by adding water.

The new uPREP Buffered Peptone Water (BPW) offering is designed for high-throughput laboratories, where speed, convenience, reliability and cost-effectiveness are high priorities and storage space is relatively limited.

Supplied in boxes of ten robust bags, the product has been optimised to reconstitute rapidly – requiring no additional sterilisation – and is ready to dispense and use within minutes.

The uPREP system has performed well both in-house and in rigorous field trials, with its double-skinned bag construction and dual port system ensuring that the risk of leakage is extremely low.

Lab M said: "For anyone with bulk media needs, uPREP BPW takes up minimal storage space, offers quick, convenient reconstitution with no need to autoclave and preparation does not require skilled personnel."

This comes after the firm announced the recruitment of Sue Macauley-Patrick and David Matthews as key account managers last month.
