Leo Pharma to support skin disease initiative in Brazil
Leo Pharma has announced its support for a new scheme to raise awareness about skin disease treatment and prevention in Brazil.
The European pharmaceutical company will partner with the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (BSD) to launch an exhibition at the Brazilian Sculpture Museum showing Brazil's history and culture from the perspective of skin.
Through this project, it is hoped that the organisations will be able to improve understanding of conditions such as actinic keratosis, which is highly prevalent among the local populace.
It marks the 100th anniversary of the BSD and also coincides with the three-year anniversary of Leo Pharma's entry into the Brazilian market.
Gitte Aabo, president and chief executive officer of Leo Pharma, said: "This is a crucial step towards empowering patients and helping people achieve healthy skin."
Last month, the company allied with the Karen Clifford Skin Cancer Charity to launch a UK campaign raising awareness of the dangers of overexposure to sunlight.
