Life Technologies posts “strong financial results”
Life Technologies has posted "strong financial results" in the second quarter of 2009, its chairman and chief executive has asserted.
Greg Lucier made his comments as the company announced fiscal details for the three-month period ended June 30th, which included GAAP revenues of $833 million (508 million pounds).
Mr Lucier said: "I am very pleased with our strong financial results in the second quarter, despite continued challenges in the global macroeconomic situation."
The results are a testament to the company’s "strong" operating rigour, he added, noting that the value associated with combining Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems has been demonstrated in a number of other tangible ways.
He cited the company’s capacity to "quickly and efficiently" respond to the swine flu outbreak as an example of this.
Earlier this month, Life Technologies announced the release of its Global Citizenship Report for 2008, which offers an update on the organisation’s ethical and environmental efforts.
