Lilly launches new faculty registry

Lilly has announced the launch of a new report detailing recent payments it has made to doctors and other healthcare professionals.

The company’s faculty registry currently contains the data for the first three months of 2009 and will be updated on a quarterly basis.

Commenting on the launch, Jack Harris, the vice-president of Lilly’s US medical division, said that the registry is consistent with the company’s ongoing efforts to increase transparency.

“We see greater transparency as integral to rebuilding trust in our industry,” he added.

Lilly has taken a number of other steps to improve its accountability, from making its clinical trials data public from 2004 to publicly reporting all its educational grants and charitable contributions from 2007.

In recent days, the company announced that it received the Corporate Circle Partners award by the National Medical Association at the body’s 113th annual scientific assembly and conference.
