Lilly to present new cancer drug data at ASCO 2013
Lilly has announced that it will be attending the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago later this month.
At the event – which runs from May 31st to June 4th 2013 – the company will present the latest clinical data on the more than 20 molecules it has in early and late-stage development for the treatment of dangerous cancers.
Among the compounds that will be discussed are the CDK4/6 inhibitor LY2835219, the bivalent MET antibody LY2875358 and the oral transforming growth factor-beta receptor I kinase inhibitor LY2157299.
Lilly has also announced its support for the conference's theme, Building Bridges to Conquer Cancer, which highlights the importance of collaborative approaches to tackling the disease.
Dr Richard Gaynor, vice-president of product development and medical affairs for Lilly Oncology, said: "In today's medical landscape, the entire oncology community needs to constantly be looking for ways to build bridges – with each other, with academia, with patients and with the regulatory bodies."
Earlier this week, the company announced that chief financial officer Derica Rice is taking over as its temporary chief executive while Dr John Lechleiter takes a medical leave of absence.
