Mast launches improved DiscMaster3 disc dispenser

Mast has announced the launch of an enhanced version of its DiscMaster3 disc dispenser system, which provides a new smoother ergonomic design and several practicality benefits.

Created to offer a reliable and robust solution for dispensing Antibiotic Susceptibility Test, Combination and Identification discs within the MastDiscs range, the device features a fully height adjustable skirt and can delivers up to six discs per dispensing cycle.

This brings various advantages in terms of convenience and allows a range of agar depths to be accommodated for consistent and accurate dispensing.

An enhanced seal-tight canister containing new silica gel capsules with an improved colour reaction allows the system to be easily stored, while the automatic lock-off functionality alerts users when the final disc has been dispensed from a cartridge, making it easier for lab technicians to keep on top of replenishing their supply.

Last month, the company announced the launch of a new Carbapenemase Detection Set, for use in the identification of dangerous forms of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
