Merck Millipore launches new Clarisolve depth filter
Merck Millipore has launched a novel clarification device designed to facilitate the single-stage clarification of pretreated feed streams.
The Clarisolve depth filter features a gradient density structure specifically designed to the particle size distributions of pretreated feed streams and provides improved volumetric capacity and reduced turbidity compared to any currently available depth filtration technologies.
Its design means it enables processing in a significantly reduced footprint with minimal flushing requirements, while eliminating the need for centrifugation and being fully scalable to cater to a range of needs.
Merck Millipore hopes this product will address the clarification challenges that higher titers coming from upstream bioreactors have posed.
Vin Donovan, vice-president of biopharmaceutical process solutions at Merck Millipore, said: "With Clarisolve depth filters, our customers can now take full advantage of high-density pretreated feed streams and improve overall process economics."
The company also launched its new Eshmuno A chromatography media offering and Chromabolt range of chromatography columns earlier this month.
