Merck Millipore receives Good Design Award for Muse Cell Analyser

Merck Millipore has announced that its Muse Cell Analyser system has been selected to receive a prestigious design accolade.

The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press has chosen the product as the recipient of its annual Good Design Award, honouring its status as a innovative and cutting-edge work.

Launched in 2012, the system delivers real-time quantitative assessment of cell health, apoptosis, protein phosphorylation, cell cycle and immunophenotype, providing greater accuracy and precision than manual haemocytometry or image-based automated analysis.

John Sweeney, head of the life sciences business at Merck Millipore, said: "We set out to produce a flow cytometer that was optimally designed in how scientists would use the instrument within the confines of available lab space – without compromising on performance and data quality."

This comes after the device previously earned a  Red Dot product design award last year, another of the industry's most highly-respected accolades.
