Merck Serono earns product differentiation excellence award

15th May 2013

Merck Serono has earned a European product differentiation excellence award following an analysis of the human growth hormone (HGH) market by Frost and Sullivan.

The market research organisation presented the accolade to Merck Serono in recognition of its cutting-edge drug delivery devices Easypod and Cool.Click 2, which facilitate the administration of endogenous growth hormone deficiency treatment Saizen.

Both devices have been optimised to address the issues of poor patient compliance and low adherence rates that are often associated with HGH therapy, by making the process as easy as possible.

Belen Garijo, Merck Serono's chief operating officer, said: "Easypod fulfills the demand for a simple daily-use device that reduces the complexities associated with the administration of HGH."

Frost and Sullivan stated that Merck Serono has shown excellence in developing products with unique features and functionality and superior quality, while also supporting customisation.

This news comes in the same week that it was announced that Merck Serono achieved a three percent year-on-year revenue increase in the first quarter of 2013.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801585558-ADNFCR
