Merck Sharp and Dohme and JAMA Network announce alliance

4th December 2012

Merck Sharp and Dohme has announced a new collaboration with the JAMA Network to enhance the quality of medical information available over the internet.

The new alliance will improve the standard of data available through the US medical education and health information site Merck Medicus, as well as the international web resource Univadis.

Healthcare professionals accessing these sites will be able to take advantage of selected videos, articles and abstracts from JAMA, one of the most respected medical journals in the world.

Materials will initially be available in English, Mandarin, French, Italian and Spanish, with Brazilian, German, Portuguese and Japanese translations to be added next year.

Dr Sethu Reddy, vice-president for US medical affairs at Merck Sharp and Dohme, said: "With the enormous variety of medical content now available online, it has never been more important for healthcare professionals to have timely access to trustworthy and unbiased health information."

Last week, the company announced that its new personalised cancer therapy vintafolide has been accepted for regulatory review by the European Medicines Agency.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801500055-ADNFCR
