NPA launches resource pack on new inspections model
The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has launched a resource pack offering guidance on the new premises inspections and ratings model introduced by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Available for NPA members via its website, the pack includes information on the five principles of the new system and their underpinning standards. It has been produced in consultation with its members and the GPhC.
It includes suggested examples of evidence of compliance that inspectors may be looking for and practical scenarios showing how a pharmacy team might demonstrate to an inspector how their pharmacy operates and meets the standards.
Short videos are also available from the GPhC's inspections team, explaining what inspectors are looking for, tips for what makes a good inspection and common mistakes to avoid.
Leyla Hannbeck, head of pharmacy services at the NPA, said: "The resources will be developed further, if necessary, as the inspection process continues – we will do all we can to help our members achieve excellence."
The NPA also commenced a series of practical sessions to help members get ready for the inspection at the end of last year. These sessions will continue to be held throughout the year.
